Lesson 4

30-minute Zoom

Focus Question: What can you do to make a difference for your community to have clean water and a healthy habitat for salmon?

Before the lesson, complete the following with your students:

1. Complete activities on pages 23 and 24 in the Russian River journal. 

Optional:

2. Complete the Student Stewards lesson in the Incredible Journey Curriculum.

3. Read about the Mirabel Fish Ladder and Viewing Gallery

4. Watch Water Follies (A Soak Opera) to learn how you can conserve water. 

After the lesson:

1. Create an individual and/or class stewardship project plan.

Optional:

2. Join the City of Santa Rosa's Creek Stewardship Program.

3. Participate in a cleanup with the Clean River Alliance. 

4. Sign up for the Adopt-A-Creek Program. 

5. Explore the Students and Streams Monitoring Map.

6. Learn about nature and contribute to scientific research with INaturalist.
